2.3. Start Outlook in Safe Mode
If Outlook is quitting periodically and then restarting itself, you may want to start in Safe Mode. Safe Mode diables 3rd-party plugins (like the InterAction toolbar and Acrobat plugins) and lets you continue to work until you have time to troubleshoot the root cause of the errors you're seeing.
To start Outlook in Safe Mode:
- Go to Start > Run
- Type: Outlook.exe[space]/safe and press Enter (make sure you type a space character between "Outlook.exe" and the "/").
Outlook will start up with any plug-ins or add-in menus disabled.
